Cortland Addison, a reclusive military specialist from the early 21st century, travels three hundred and four years into the future with Sköll, his rescued wolf. To the United States government, his journey was designed to test a strange technology. To Cort, it was a way to finally escape a society he no longer wanted to participate in. Cort and Sköll arrive in a world that has been transformed by plagues and technology to find he has become a legend. Facing new enemies and finding new friends, Cortland Addison learns that he cannot escape his past, and only a man willing to abandon peace can secure it.
Cort and Sköll arrive in the future to find themselves barricaded in a vast underground cavern filled with everything they might need to survive their unknown future. From how-to books to enough weaponry and powered armor to wage a war, Addison was well prepared to face whatever challenges awaited him. Or so he thought. He wasn't prepared for who he found outside the cavern. Because a family he didn't know existed had been waiting and preparing for him for over three centuries. Now it was up to the family legend to make good on the centuries old promise ‘Hope lies in the blood.’

The story is different from much of the other sci-first stories I've read. While entertaining it left me wanting more. For one, the main character (Cort) seems too brutally accepting of the death he deals out. Even when not directly or aggressively threatened by an individual he easily dispenses a deaths sentence. After reading the next installment of the series I'll decide if I want to follow the tale.Product details

Warrior Scar Book One of the Warrior Chronicles eBook Shawn Jones Reviews
This book has good action and a great storyline. It is science fiction all the way, but it tracks with the story. Cort is an unlikely hero, but he grows on you. Read, enjoy and save some food.
I thought this book had a slim chance in being good. I was wrong. An interesting and unique plot, with a great main character. I hope he finds peace and love in the coming books.
Loved it. Great S/F military action. Always enjoyed stories about traveling in time. Would really like to have a longer story. In process of buying book #2 now.
Picked up book one and couldn't put it down. Yea there are some grammar errors, but the book is a very interesting story of war and politics and is also very emotional as the story unravels.Purchased the next five books in series.
A very good story. Good characterization in an outstanding adventure. A soldier of fortune in an environment that he doesn't want to live in. Transported to 300 years in the future. What happens next is in the author's imagination.
Author has a good basis for the book series - read up through #5 now. Each book continues direct from the last book but the "story" of each book is completed in each.Does a good job of establishing the characters - especially the secondary charactrs which normally get short shifted for development.
I'm sorry. I just couldn't get past the 1st chapter. The initial setup was just so over the top, that I couldn't stop laughing/cringing. Boot camp to Seargent, the women must be ovulating when going to meet with him....., he is the ultimate male/warrior... blah... blah...blah.... . Maybe it would have gotten better, but now that it's stuck in my head that way, don't think I'll be able to continue.
The story is different from much of the other sci-first stories I've read. While entertaining it left me wanting more. For one, the main character (Cort) seems too brutally accepting of the death he deals out. Even when not directly or aggressively threatened by an individual he easily dispenses a deaths sentence.
